Wolverine 1000 Mile: Part I

I asked Twitter followers in early December for recommendations on a "Best All-Around Boot". From the office to weekends, I wanted something stylish that worked under all conditions - the answers came back clear - The 1000 Mile Boot. I call it an all-season workhorse with definitive style. One tweeter informed me they wore the pair all winter. Wolverine was kind enough to send out a pair from their 1000 Mile Collection for me to test. My mouth literally fell open as I opened the shoe box and saw the hand craftsmanship, stitching, stacked leather heel, and deep rich colors of the brown leather. Every detail down to the laces were perfected.

Below are photos I took shortly after receiving the boots. They've now, after one month, worn excellently. I'll follow up next week with a "1 Month 1000 Mile" post with photos on how they've worn in, info, and details on how to care for your new investment.

Do me a favor - Check out the color options available for your own pair, Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots.

Man. Those are some nice looking boots. I personally would prefer a cap toe, but if Wolverine happened to send me a pair, they wouldn't hear me complain.

I don't want to upset your benefactors, but what's your take on Bean's Engineer Boots?

Randall,

My photos don't even do the boots justice. I like cap toe, but I think these were the style I was looking for.

To the Engineer boots, I can't really say... I'm honestly not a fan of suede. All a matter of opinion. Take care.

What size do you wear? I wear a 11.5 but have found that a lot of the vintage/oldschool boots fit narrow on me. Are these true to size?

These are 10.5's. I typically take an EE though and these fit perfectly. I would say they are wider than the normal boot.

Indeed. The all-around boots is like one's beaten Chevrolet - old yet dependable.
